Why we built these
Most cleaning businesses in the UK do not fail because the cleaning is bad. They fail because the numbers underneath the cleaning were never checked: a rate set by copying a competitor, a contract quoted off a payslip wage rather than the true cost of employing someone, a VAT threshold crossed three months before anyone noticed.
These are the calculations we watch cleaning companies get wrong most often. Each tool shows its working, so you can see which assumption is driving the answer and change it. That matters more than the number itself: a quote you can defend line by line is a quote you can hold your price on.
There is no email gate on any of them. If you find them useful and later want the same maths running automatically across every job, rota and invoice, that is what CleanFlo does, but the tools work whether or not you ever become a customer.
Which tool should I start with?
- Just starting out? Begin with the startup cost calculator and the hourly rate calculator they tell you what you need to launch and what you must charge to make it worthwhile.
- Quoting a domestic job? The quote calculator and time estimator work together, price it, then check the hours are realistic.
- Bidding for a commercial contract? Use the tender calculator and sanity-check the result against the price per m² calculator.
- Employing your first cleaner? The true cost of a cleaner and holiday entitlement tools cover the costs that catch people out.
- Turning over well but not making money? Run your three biggest jobs through the profit margin calculator. The loss-makers are usually obvious and usually few.
