The real difference: an operations tool against a business platform
Swept is good at what it does. Scheduling, GPS-verified time tracking, site inspections and job costing are built specifically for commercial cleaning and janitorial teams, and the depth shows in the inspection workflow especially.
What Swept does not attempt is the other half of running a cleaning company: who the client is, what was quoted, what to invoice, and whether it has been paid. Its own features page advertises running operations, proving quality and controlling costs, with nothing about client records, quotes or invoices.
CleanFlo does both halves in one system. Whether that matters depends on whether you already have client billing solved elsewhere, or whether a completed job needs to become an invoice without leaving the software that scheduled it.
Where UK specifics genuinely matter
This is not really a workaround question, the way it sometimes is against a US-based competitor. Swept simply does not attempt invoicing, in any currency, so a UK cleaning company using it is running a second system for client billing regardless of VAT.
CleanFlo generates a UK VAT invoice, with net and VAT split per line, sort code, account number and a unique payment reference, if you are VAT registered. If you are not, it asks once, takes you at your word, and puts no VAT number, column, line or total on anything. If that half of the job is currently a spreadsheet or an accounting package that does not know about the rota, moving it into the same system as the schedule removes a manual step rather than adding a configuration one.
GPS tracking, and what CleanFlo does instead
Swept's GPS-verified clock in and out is a real, current feature, and worth naming plainly rather than working around. CleanFlo takes two location fixes on a job, at start and at completion, checked against the property with a deliberately generous radius, because a phone fixes indoors to a hundred metres routinely and wrongly doubting a cleaner costs more than missing one.
That is a different level of verification from continuous GPS tracking, on purpose. If proving exactly where a cleaner was for the whole shift is the actual requirement, Swept's version is the real answer to that question and CleanFlo's is not trying to be.
Where this lands
Swept is well built for the shift itself, and stops when the shift ends: no client records, no quoting, no invoicing. A cleaning business is decided on the other side of that line.
If you want the quote, the schedule, the job, the invoice and the compliance record in one system, £19.99 a month with unlimited staff, CleanFlo is built for that specifically.
One thing to check before you model anything: their plan page prices on the number of locations you clean, and starts from a minimum number of them. A cleaning company adding a small site is adding to that count, so a contract worth a few hundred a month can move you up a band before it has earned anything. CleanFlo puts no cap and no price on sites at all. Check their current pricing on their own site; we deliberately do not quote competitor prices here because they change and a stale figure helps nobody.
