Switching parts of CleanFlo off

Modules sits under Account in the sidebar, between Settings and Support. It was a tab inside Settings until recently and moved out because fourteen subsystems explained properly need more room than a tab strip gives them. It is owner-only: a supervisor has no Modules item and no route to one.

The page opens with the sentence that governs everything on it: "Switching a module off hides it for everyone at your company and stops new activity in it. Nothing already recorded is ever deleted: switch it back on and it is exactly as you left it." That is not reassurance written for the page, it is what the code does. Nothing here deletes anything.

What one row holds

Every module is one row, and every row is the same four things in the same order.

The switch, with the module's name on it

The name is the label of the switch itself rather than a heading above it, which is why it leads the row. A module you have never touched is on: CleanFlo reads anything that is not explicitly off as on, so a new account arrives with all fourteen running.

Always on the page, never behind the disclosure. It is written to be readable in one pass down the list, so you can find the one you are after without opening anything.

A link into this Help Centre

At the foot of the opened detail, reading Read the guide: … and naming the guide it opens. Where a module has no guide of its own yet it reads Search the Help Centre instead and opens the hub, rather than guessing at a page.

The switch moves before the save has finished and moves back if the save is refused, with the reason printed beside the row. So a switch that flicks and then flicks back is not a glitch: it is the write being turned down, and the message under it says by what.

What each one takes with it

In the order the page lists them. The middle column is what switching it off takes away; the right column is what stays on file regardless.

The two newest switches both sit under Your team rather than with the properties they are about, because both are things a cleaner does from a phone in the middle of a clean. Checklist requirements is a checklist item a cleaner cannot finish the clean without meeting, because you asked for a photo or a reading against it; see Photo and reading requirements. Property issues is something a cleaner finds broken or missing at a property and raises there and then, with a photograph; see Property issues. The setup wizard offers them differently by trade: Checklist requirements to everyone, because it costs a business that never uses it nothing at all, and Property issues to the two trades that walk into empty properties: end of tenancy and holiday lets.

Two of these carry a smaller switch inside a larger one. Mileage claims is a tab inside Payroll, so switching Time & payroll off takes Mileage with it whatever Mileage's own switch says. Enquiries and Your website share the public quote form: switching Enquiries off takes the form off your website too, because there is only one form.

What a module switch is not

It is not a permission. A module is per company, not per person: switching Messaging off removes it for you as well as for your cleaners. Who may open which screen is a separate question and lives in the role, covered in Your account and security.

It is not a price change either. Every module is included in the £19.99 a month, switched on or off. Nothing here saves money, and nothing here is an upsell: the only reason to switch one off is that your business does not do that thing and would rather not see it.
